Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

A form of therapy which is structured and directive and in which 'homework' plays a significant role. The therapist and client together examine unwanted thoughts, attitudes and beliefs and the behaviour in response to these. In a collaborative process the client learns to change his/her thinking and, in doing so, moves towards more appropriate and constructive behavioural responses.
